Markesan High School

Monday, November 11 @ 10:30 a.m.

Honoring the men and women who have served and are serving in every branch

of the United States military, Markesan High School hosts an annual Veterans Day

observance and invites the community to attend.

Starting with a breakfast/reception for area veterans at 10 a.m., the Veterans Day

program begins at approximately 10:30 a.m. and includes various student speakers,

veteran speakers from local American Legion Posts, and performances by the

Markesan High School Choir and Markesan Marching Hornets Band.

All current and former members of the military, as well as the public, are invited

to attend the Markesan High School Veterans Day observance to honor the brave

men and women who have fought and continue to fight for this country’s freedoms.

Markesan’s 17th annual Homespun

Holidays is set to return in 2019 on

Friday & Saturday, November 22 & 23,

at Markesan Elementary School.

Hosted by the Markesan Chamber of

Commerce, both days’ featured events

include the always-popular Homespun

Craft Fair, boasting over 50 local crafters,

artists and direct-sales representatives,

in addition to a must-see silent auction

with over 30 baskets, some worth several

hundred dollars.

Saturday starts bright and early with

the Chamber of Commerce Kids Zone

hosting several free kids activities, with

the one and only Santa Claus also ex-

pected to stop on by.

During the family-friendly event,

while mom and dad are finding one-of-

a-kind homemade and handmade items

at the craft fair, kids will have plenty to

do at the Kids Zone, which includes

activities such as a bounce house, make-

and-take crafts, cookie decorating, face

painting, and even a reading corner.

With planning for the event lasting

throughout the year, there’s no telling

what new activities will be added as the

weekend draws near. You’ll just have to

wait and find out!

But don’t forget to mark your calendars

now for the 17th annual Homespun

Holidays, hosted by the Markesan

Chamber of Commerce on Friday &

Saturday, November 22 & 23 at Marke-

san Elementary School.
